Food doesn't make you fat. You can eat anything you want. It's caloric intake and no exercise that packs on the lbs. While I eat an all-natural diet--I do eat ice cream, chocolate, nuts, olive oil, fatty fish, etc. Why use tons of fattening condiments? Why not use herbs, olive oil, onions, garlic to make foods taste better?

I don't get it. I'm 56, 122 lbs, size 4 but my peers are battling the bulge, diabetes 2, etc. Just eat natural and make olive oil--in moderation--and vinegars--your condiments. It's not rocket science. It's common sense. Go natural. Go wholesome. Eat to live do not live to eat. And yes, I do enjoy "forbidden" foods but I also swim almost daily. Keep a move on like the Europeans do--those who follow the traditional diet and lifestyle.

she advised that I take the anti-biotic in case it was mersa, and she said she was sorry I didn't have a card to take care of diagnostic testing for my breast, she first said she wanted me to get an MRI, then realized I don't have a job or insurance, but didn't suggest the free clinic, and yet she suggested it, when I couldn't pay for my paxil that I take (she mentioned that 2 months ago), anyways she had no other suggestion, she said sometimes it takes 2 years to get someone to donate their time and to get it for free, it's not that I don't want to go there to the free clinic, even though it's creepy downtown, I just want to see what to do with the Huntsman clinic, but I couldn't get to that today, as I am trying to get disability because of other issues I have with my arthritic neck, and spent hours doing that and pondering on what to do. It is strange to me that for as much reading as I've done, the 2 nurse practitioners that treated me yesterday and one was training, that they would have tried to think of alternatives for me, but they both said, we don't know much about this type of cancer and we're sorry, and I know that's why she thought maybe it was the mersa infection, she had to diagnose something, right? She probably doesn't know as I read that an MRI doesn't necessarily show anything, I need a PET test is what I am reading. Like I said my breast has felt weird and aching and itching on and off for 1.5 years, the mammogram 1.5 yrs ago showed inflammation of the lymphatic system in my breast, she thought because I had a mild cold that's why it was like that with the mammogram, I read that inflammation in the lymph system in the breast can indicate this type of cancer, why didn't they see this back then, instead of just saying the mammogram showed no lumps. If I have stage one because of the thing that has appeared on my breast, gosh wouldn't you think they would be more concerned, as obviously they missed this last year, I don't think she recalls conversations we had, she has bad asthma and I think her memory is impaired a bit. I didn't have a lump in the mammogram so that's all they were concerned about, and now later this thing. This is so strange to me, after all the reading I did last night and today after my appointment today, there must be a way to as you say expedite it, but she clearly said that state medicaid sometimes took up to 2 years, I think it's weird, I could be dead by then. I will do more Monday, I was supposed to be looking for a part-time job, but now my focus is on this, I think I will contact Hunstman clinic in person and see if I can talk to someone besides the person who answers the phone at the clinic, but I don't know who that would be. I think but maybe not sure, if the nurse practitioner thought our local free clinic could help me, that they would, maybe she was stunned also and didn't think to tell me to go there. It can't be that hard to schedule a biopsy, but maybe this clinic which mainly treats street type people doesn't have this in place. I have applied today for social security and a medicaid card both, so at least that will be in place, but that could take 90 days for a medicaid card. And again, I'm not sure what medicaid will pay for if there is cancer, after the initial diagnoses. I've heard of people who have no insurance and can't get help with cancer type things and die, it just seems so weird to me. I read that chemo doesn't work on this type of cancer either, there are oral medications and I really need the expertise of Huntsman, as this woman can't do anything for me, and I read that other women's docs just say it's probably an infection, so they don't want you to walk out of the office emptyhanded I guess. If I were her I would have tried to sit with me and figured out how to get an MRI and a plan of action, anyways, she was busy and it is an HMO so...

Hi Donna,

I'm not a health care professional. Unfortunately, I don't know about the process of getting a Medicaid card. I hope you've applied for one. You might call and speak to a representative explaining your health condition. Ask them if there is a way to expedite the process.

You mentioned that you went to a nurse practitioner. What did she advise? Does she have ties to a free clinic that might be able to help you get a biopsy. I would contact the Huntsman Cancer Center describing your condition. Tell them about your financial situation and ask their advice. Sometimes asking for their help and advice if they were in your shoes will get you started on the right path.

I would also look for a free clinic and a doctor who could help you. Many states and cities offer free health services.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help.

My sincerest wishes for a healthy resolution.

1.5 yrs ago I had a mammogram, I asked for one because of aching in my left breast, it showed some inflammation in the lymph glands, but with no lumps I was told everything was fine. Yesterday I saw a dark thing like a pimple ot insect bite on the same breast, I went to doc today and she is a nurse practitioner but mentioned it could be the agressive type breast cancer, I always have the same aching and itching. I have no insurance, so I can't have a biopsey, she said it could be an infection, but I know it's not an infection, after reading several things I am sure it's sign of the early IBC. Not sure what to do, I'm 56, no job presently and now I will apply for a medicaid car that could take up to 90 days they say. Some of the pain is masked because I daily take a lortab for neck and headache pain. I don't know my mother's history or her mother because I didn't grow up with them in my life. All I want is enough money for a biopsy with a cancer doc up at the Huntsman Cancer place here in Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm sure it's expensive. I have a feeling because it's been almost 20 months since I started having this aching radiating from that left breast and now with the weird thing on my breast and last month a weird rash, that this is cancer. I've read the chemo doesn't necessarily work with this, is there any way I could hurry the process of getting a medicaid card or find a way to get a biopsy I wonder
